We built Foleo to solve a problem we’re all too familiar with: landing an internship or job offer without extensive work experience is really hard. This is especially true for young workers just entering the workforce now as economic uncertainty and AI adoption are displacing many entry-level jobs. It doesn’t help that every job posting seems to get hundreds of applications in the first hour.

So how do you get noticed in a pile of resumes? And how can you show potential employers that you have the skills to do the job despite not having much relevant work experience? We believe that a portfolio that guides recruiters and hiring managers through a few well-executed projects, showcases your skills, and tells a compelling story gives you an advantage that can lead to more interviews and ultimately more job offers.

But this leads to another problem: building an effective portfolio website isn’t as easy as it sounds. You could try your hand at writing HTML/CSS/JS from scratch (we did), but presentation matters, and a poorly-designed portfolio could do more harm than good.
